Go to the HP website @ http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/eng/software_drivers.htm to download the HP Designjet 650c printer driver. Most newer versions of AutoCAD already have the HP650 and 750 drivers in the printer pull down menu.

  1. In the drivers search window type in “Designjet 650c” or “Designjet 750c”
  2. Download the driver for the Designjet 650c. Open onto your workstation.
  3. From your CAD application choose “Plot to File” from the file menu. Select the “HP Designjet 650c” plotter from the printer pull down menu.
  4. Plotting to file using the HP 650c driver saves your files as .PLT which we can print.

In AutoCAD or ArchiCAD under the File pull down menu go to the “PRINT” option and select “Print to File.” Selecting “Print to File” will write the drawing to your Hardrive in the .PLT format if you choose the “HP650c” driver under the printer pull down menu within the “Print to File” option. Architects have also had success using the HP1050 and HP750 printer drivers to convert files to a .PLT format.

Include the following instructions for your print order:

  • Billing Information. (Company billing, credit card info, etc.)
  • Number of sets you need printed. (Bound or Unbound)
  • Set sizes. Example: One set @ 24x36” and one set reduced to 11x17”.
  • Who is picking up the prints ( Example: Company personnel? Names of clients picking up the prints? How many sets do they receive?)
  • Telephone contact information for all parties involved.
